Rofflehaus is a wiki for Iowa State University; Ames, Iowa; and surrounding area. Anyone can edit any page on this site. From making a simple spelling correction to authoring an entire article yourself: you are free to help Rofflehaus expand.

Current and Recent Events

Rofflehaus is back in style! We've upgraded the server software and solved that pesky "nobody can make an account" problem, so feel free to login or sign-up and start libeling local businesses like back in the day.

Rofflehaus has plenty of crap to read and improve, as well as many projects that could use your help.


September 1: Albert Storms, Raymond Pearson, & Raymond Hughes becomes ISU's 6th, 7th, & 8th presidents in 1903, 1912, & 1927, respectively.

September 5: In 2003, Union Drive Community Center is dedicated

September 6: In 1907, the first meeting was held by Anson Marston's wife to initiate the creation of the Sun Dial Chapter in Ames of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

September 11: In 1862, Iowa accepts the provisions of the Morrill Act of 1862

September 12: In 1920, Edgar Stanton (see Campanile), a member of the first graduating class (see class of 1872), dies.

September 15: In 2000, Robert Spangler confesses to his murders.

September 19: In 1991, KCCQ's Kenn McCloud locks himself in the campanile until $10,000 had been raised through the "Bucks for Bells" campaign to renovate the campanile.

September 24: Only 5 days after Kenn McCloud locked himself in the campanile, $10,700 was raised.

September 25: In 1895, the football team defeats Northwestern University which led to the nickname of Cyclones after an article published by the Chicago Tribune called the team a cyclone.

September 25: In 1994, the campanile was rededicated after being remodeled.

September 27: In 2004, the Courtyard Cafe opens in Lagomarcino Hall.
